Mapping: Yosemite National Park
In this series, I map Yosemite National Park through both material and memory. Working on raw linen, I paint the mountains I know from walking and driving, tracing roads, rivers, and lakes alongside stitched lines that mark the footsteps of my own hikes. Collaged fragments, maps, brochures, and nature guides become part of the surface, anchoring each work in lived experience. These paintings interpret the landscape through the textures of fabric, paint, and thread, transforming cartographic signs into personal records of movement through the park.
