Mapping: The Bay Area

I began measuring the Bay Area by how far I could travel with my dog, Indie, beside me. Together, we searched for parks, trails, water, and open spaces beyond my neighborhood.

Using Strava and Google Maps, I tracked our routes through Palo Alto, the Peninsula, and Marin County. I translate these journeys into grids and layered lines, adding colors drawn from grasses, trees, water, sky, and changing light.

What began with walks around one block grew into a network of familiar paths. Through repeated movement, I gradually transformed an unfamiliar geography into a landscape I knew.
