Mapping: Baylands Nature Preserve

I created fifty 6 x 6 inch artworks based on GPS lines from seven favorite daily running routes. These paths, color-coded and repeated, generate grids and pathways that anchor each work. Starting with the GPS traces, I layer drawing, collage, and paint. Textures of grasses, waterways, plants, and sky guide choices of color, shape, and surface. Some works merge multiple runs into intricate, gridded fields, while others trace a single path across the panel.

The series is both a meditation on presence and an inquiry into how movement shapes perception, memory, and landscape.
